President Goodluck Jonathan flewsecretly to Mubi, Adamawa state on Thursday unannounced and met with the Emir, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu as well as soldiers of the 155 Special Task Force Battalion.
The president landed at the Yola International Airport at about 11am amidst tight security in company of the Service Chiefs and quickly boarded a helicopter to Mubi.

The helicopter landed at the military barracks in Mubi where he met with the troops before proceeding to the emir's palace.

Residents said the president also visited Vimtim, the home town of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh few kilometers from Mubi.
"When the President and his entourage left the emir's palace, they headed to Vimtim village, the home of the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief Air Marshall Alex Badeh, who is also in the president's entourage”, Aaresident, Buba said.
Mubi is among the towns recently recaptured by Nigerian military from Boko Haram insurgents.
Jonathan has come under intense criticism from opposition for his failure to visit communities whose resident where displaced by the Boko Haram militants.
